Disappointment

Miss had let me know sometime last week that she may tentatively visit my city this week and there was a chance of us meeting up. I was overjoyed at this possibility and was really looking forward to it.

Last night she texted me stating that although she will be arriving, she only had enough time to make her next connection. I told her that it was fine I would be happy just to see her at the airport...even if it was only for 10 mins. She agreed that we could do that. She would text me later when her flights were confirmed.

To welcome and greet her for the first time, I thought I would buy her some chocolates. I was working through the night and finished work at 8:00 AM. As soon as I got out of office, I went to a popular chocolate store in town. The store would not open for another 20 mins, so I waited. As soon as they opened, I rushed in to see what I could find. Not knowing her taste, I went for a relatively safe choice. I picked some Dark Chocolate Macadamia nuts for her.  

Got home and I still did not have her flight timings. I thought I would catch a little nap as I had been working all night. About an hour later, a text message woke me up. It was from Miss. To my utter disappointment Miss was totally skipping my city. I was absolutely gutted but took it well. I wished Miss a safe flight to her final destination. She promised that she would be visiting again soon. I guess I just have to be patient.

I was most disappointed because, meeting her would have changed things so much. Right now, even though we speak and have seen pictures of each other, it is still remains an online arrangement. Meeting a person in flesh and blood take things to a whole new level. So far we have connected very well online and on the phone. So, I was very keen to meet her and see how we connected in person and face to face.

I patiently look forward to her next visit.
